Tremblay Sweeps Grand Prix de Valcourt
February 19, 2013
Team AMSOIL/Ski Doo's Tim Tremblay's return home to his native Quebec did not go unrewarded as the reigning AMSOIL Championship Snocross Pro Open champion swept all three days of competition at the Grand Prix de Valcourt.
Although not an ACS tour event, the Grand Prix is one of the most storied snowmobile races in the world and is held in the hometown of AMSOIL/Scheuring Speed Sports snowmobile partner Ski-Doo. To top it off, the legions of snowmobile fans in the province are passionate about the sport and more than 30,000 people show up for the annual event.
"This is the only race I am doing in Quebec, and all of my family and friends, and all of the riders I grew up racing motocross and snowmobiles with were there, so it was a really great experience," said Tremblay.
It was also a great weekend for the team as Robbie Malinoski and Darrin Mees each had a second place finish and were never out of the top five during the three days of racing.
"All weekend we were able to try new things and make the sled better for the nationals. That was the point," said Tremblay. "For sure we made ground but we are going to keep testing this week to make things even better."
Up next are rounds 11-12 of AMSOIL Championship Snocross, February 22-23 in Salamanca, N.Y. The event will be available on-line Friday and Saturday at www.isocracing.com.
