Dual Podiums Push Tremblay Up in Standings
February 15, 2013
Team AMSOIL/Scheuring Speed Sports rider Tim Tremblay kept his title hopes alive with a double podium showing as AMSOIL Championship Snocross wrapped-up two days of spectacular racing in Traverse City, Mich. last weekend.
Tremblay raced to second and third place finishes in Michigan, putting the defending pro open champion in a tie with Team AMSOIL/Judnick Motorsports rider Ross Martin for second.
Martin was the number two qualifier on Friday night, but he was quickly down three laps after getting his sled tangled up with another rider early in the race. On Saturday, Martin broke a rear axle and a broken clutch in qualifying and had to get into the final through the Last Chance Qualifier. Martin worked his way from the back row into third, behind Tremblay.
Tremblay picked up valuable points with his top finishes and moved into a tie with Martin for second overall behind points leader Tucker Hibbert. Team AMSOIL/Scheuring riders Darrin Mees finished fourth on Friday.
The next two rounds of AMSOIL Championship Snocross will be held in Seneca, N.Y. February 22-23. Scheuring Speed Sports will be racing this weekend at the Ski Doo sponsored Grand Prix de Valcourt in Valcourt, Quebec.
